My immediate future had been predetermined for some time. But today I received word that the recruiters of the Greek Army, in their benevolent grace, have conceded to afford me a further postponement for academic reasons until December 2004. That is an extra two years.
This means at least that I get to finish my PhD and move back to Greece in significantly more comfort. (The danger that my research will trail along for longer than it should is inherent in this situation, but I will consciously try to resist it.) But further than that, it means that my plans for the next few years need to be reconsidered. Perhaps I will apply to the GSD right after I finish at Bath? Maybe I will take some time to work and/or build up my portfolio.
Another new beginning.
