Earthquake!

Here is a new experience: an earthquake in the United Kingdom. This happened a few minutes ago, at 23:53 GMT, 00:53 BST, somewhere near Birmingham. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre’s real time seismicity page, the tremor registered at 5.5 on the Richter scale, a rather significant event for the UK. There are no reports of damages yet, but I would expect a quake of this magnitude to test the load-bearing wall structures typical in the UK.

Reminded me of home.
