With the benefit of an iota of actual free time, my creative output over the orthodox Easter weekend was this very seasonal T-shirt. I wanted to try out this method for cheap screen-printing, so I got a bit lazy with the design, which was obviously inspired by the one used in the tutorial. Even the lamb came from Google. Having said that, I am very satisfied with the school book feel of the drawing as enhanced by the choice of Clarendon for the text. I am not too displeased with the results in general, but I certainly would prefer the crispness afforded by the normal photographic process for producing the screen. Stay tuned, there are plans for more.
Oh, and if you happen to see me on the street and think I’m glowing, it’s because of Tiger.

nice!!
but the lamb isn’t wearing a crudely printed shirt … ? (chuckle chuckle chuckle)
dear orestes,
love your blog, your way with language and your ‘arched eyebrow” take on every imaginable issue. so young, so curious and well read. perhaps, there is hope after all about the new breed of greeks, although, i do suspect, you are an exception.
being away from greece for 20 years, i find your take on greece and greekness quite familiar.
who knew straight greek boys listen to momus?
i hope & expect, by the time i’ll return to motherland, you’ll be ruling the place with a velvet fist.
i live in washington d.c., where i’m a dj for some time now. i would love to mail you some of my cds. you can email me.
by the way, you should write more. and i would love to hear your take on greek music or any music for that matter.
keep sane and safe.
you are straight??? ;)
Thanks for all the undeserved praise, Kostas.
I wouldn’t have thought Momus was in the gay domain. Besides, he’s mostly straight himself, and quite randy by the sound of it.
As for “ruling the motherland with a velvet fist,” don’t hold your breath. My flight instinct is kicking the arse of my fight instinct in this case.
Strangely, it’s true; I don’t write enough about music (or dance enough about architecture). There exist things to write, so I will try to rectify that.
THANK YOU BABY!

momus might not be “in the gay domaim” but his songs are informed by gay sensibility and i don’t mean that in a vapid metrosexual way. listen to “closer to you” along with “young offender” by the pet shop boys and tell me that you don’t hear a similar kind of aesthetic. and since you are at it, play “if i was your girlfriend” by prince. to my ears “closer to you” is the song that prince forgot to write.
momus’, no guilt, no apologies, approach to sex, owes something to gay culture. and that’s a good thing.
that said, it’s always a pleasant surprise to find anybody who is a fan, gay or straight.
as for the praise, i meant it and i needed to tell you. it always, suprises me, how my friends who live in athens, are so unaware of each others talents, or they are just not interested. distance and age (46), occasionaly make me kinder, and in your case, i can say ‘you go boy, with your bad self”.
funny thing is, i’m totally ignorant when it comes to architecture or anything associated with technology. but, even when my eyes glaze over, i do try to follow. and all this just because of of your writing skills and humor. are you the one to write the great greek novel?
till then, i’ll keep an eye on your writings about music. what about the songs that really move you to this day?and why? please, a lot of why.
i hope the saying, “nobody is a prophet in his own country”, is not true in your case.
Is there any way i can buy one of these t-shirts plz let me know. ta
