Word Freak

[Koto is a traditional stringed instrument from Japan.]

A day after returning from Edinburgh I left again, to go play Scrabble in London with Matt and Raphael. I started playing Scrabble in English, a couple of years ago under their influence. My game has since improved from the “is this a word?” stage to the “is this word good in OSPD3?” stage (OSPD3 being the Official Scrabble Players’ Dictionary, 3rd edition, a rather meagre word source but that’s what we had at hand). I wasn’t happy with my game. I clearly have to learn all the two and three letter words and the high probability 6-letter stems. Also bowled. I am ashamed to reveal that my muscles hurt from bowling. (Sure, we played a few games too many, but still.)

And Apple revealed new goodies today, including the new iMac, which is bound to be a very popular machine.
