Seafood

I don’t like seafood. Most people respond to this by telling me that I’m missing out.

Periodically I also think that it’s ridiculous not to like seafood, so I try some. Tonight, for example, I prepared myself some mackerel. It went in the bin after the first bite. So no, I am obviously not missing out. It is not the name or the looks of seafood that I don’t like, it’s the taste. I find it revolting.

What I do feel I am missing out on is the increased dietary variety enjoyed by those whose taste buds are not as offended by seafood. A typical case of a meta-preference: I would like to enjoy eating aquatic life, but I don’t.
