I have resisted the truth for far too long, but the evidence has been piling up, and it is overwhelming: I am an über-zeitgeisty, finger-on-the-pulse dude.
It started back in 1997, when my postmodern philosophy teacher called me “a man who lives in the present” when I failed to share the surprise of an article writer who had just discovered that the foundations of medicine are crumbling. Then I became a C++ coding architect (and switched to OS X). Recently, Neil Leach proclaimed me “switched-on” when he was told I already own a copy of Wolfram’s obsession.
And now this. Momus (whose lifestyle I envy) has observed the freshness of pink and white, among talk about “digital creatives” with “Apple laptops.” You might have noticed that fufurasu.org has been sporting a pink and white colour scheme for months. The same colours featured heavily in our ephemeral structures submission, not to mention my portfolio.
In light of all this evidence, how can one deny my au-courantness? Hell, maybe I’m even the generator of contemporary trends! Who is to say AMO is not the result of my public denouncement (ca. 1998) of the current business model of architectural practice?
Enough frivolity. Nigel got himself an iPod. Can’t wait to put a mixer between his and mine and pretend I’m scratching with the scroll wheels.
