No Rest for the Epicurean

[Look at my finger! It's so funnie! (sic)]

I spent the past few days in London with Raphael, Nigel, Elfie (obviously showing no respect for her elders — kids these days!), Russ, Je, and Crystal (and with a supporting cast of millions). We chucked some discs, ate some dim sum, played pool, Scrabble® and Dead or Alive 2, rode several busses, watched a couple of mediocre videos, browsed the Pucca merchandise at the shop by the pagoda, evangelized iPods, checked out the competing DOES entries at the RIBA, sat through most of the panel discussion of the competition jury (predictably, sauf Zaha Hadid), and enjoyed a brief gig by (the real) Tuesday Weld on the occasion of the clarinetist’s birthday (a friend of Nigel’s).

I am incredibly drained, so a listing of the activities will have to suffice until I can pound my observations into coherent and expressable arguments. But dude, it was fun. Now, about that PhD business…
