More Designer Porn

Yes, folks, it’s that time of the year again when I’m prone to emotional dependance and frailty at amounts that my social life is incapable of absorbing. In an attempt to dissipate all the potential public sulking, let me go all the way to the other end of the spectrum and revisit a thoroughly uplifting theme that is close to my heart. Despite a demonstrable gap in the market, not much has happened since I broached the subject of designer porn almost four years ago: most of the links in that entry are now dead, although Nerve° keeps going strong. But here is a new contender in this barren landscape: SexPacking (mind the X-rated content!) is a clothes catalog in the guise of a series of hardcore videos. Rollover hotspots provide purchase information for all the clothes the performers gradually take off. Ingenious! Here’s to the rest of the prêt-à-porter industry following suit!

The internet is great for porn, and the internet is great for gratuitous shopping, but should the twain meet?

Personally, I think it would work in Europe, but in America it would cause two strong and conflicting sources of guilt to clash– overspending and sexual voyeurism.

I suppose in Europe what you call “guilt” we would call “indulgence.” You can pile sources of indulgence on top of each other all you want, and it’s still a good thing.

an outstanding idea who’s time has come! If for nothing else - those of us who aren’t ashamed to admit our voyueristic tendancies would be more deeply satisfied than when we get a cheap laugh from exposing the mannequin’s breasts on a walk through of our favorite department stores! ( now THAT’S indulgence! ;)
