There hasn’t been much time for navel contemplation recently, but I managed to squeeze in a few seconds after the Sunday roast today. I have been spending some time putting together resources for the first year architects’ web design project which I will be teaching for the next two weeks. I have also been finalising the abstract for the poster I will be presenting at Artificial Intelligence in Design 2002 in Cambridge this July.
Nick and Max were buying food and barbecue paraphernalia at Waitrose. They are using the spacious veranda of their new house tonight for the first time. Ah, spring is here. I was invited butI am on duty as a resident tutor tonight. Dame desu, ne.
Bernie and Fab, the two working boys, call Waitrose “the meeting place;” it’s where they get to see University friends now that they no longer show their face on campus. It’s a perceptive observation. The local supermarket has become the new water well; a meeting place for the global villagers. See how cunningly I combined ideas from both Bill Mitchell and Marshall McLuhan in the previous sentence?
